Can anyone offer a reason as to why this edge gets messed up in my drawing when I show it shaded with edges?  I've attached an image of the drawing in wireframe to show what it is supposed to look like and an image of what happens when shown shaded with edges.  I've tried rebooting and toggling through different appearance modes with no improvement.
