I created a part file yesterday and the part name was Plug, the number assigned was 10000378.
This was the resulting file name: 10000378_Plug.SLDPRT
I created a part file today and the part name was 8-29_test, the number assigned was 10000378, the same number as the last drawing.
I thought maybe the serial counter was stuck so I created a drawing called “test again” and the number assigned was 10000379, the next serial number in the series.
The next file I created was 8-29 Bug Test. The number assigned was 10000380 (the serial advanced)
The next one was named 0-29_another test. The number assigned was 10000380 (the serial did not advance)
You can start the name with any numerical value other than the ending digit of the previous file.
If you preface the name of a drawing with the same number as the end digit of the previous drawing the serial will not advance.
Is there a way to avoid this besides not allowing a file name to begin with a numerical digit?
