Summary:

To design and execute concepts for automation machines.  A strong knowledge of mechanical design, automation systems, and related concepts is necessary.

Duties and Responsibilities: 

• Design parts and systems for high-speed, precision automation machines using SolidWorks
• Confirm system and product capabilities by designing feasibility and testing methods; testing properties
• Develop mechanical and electromechanical products by studying customer requirements; research and test manufacturing and assembly methods and materials; solicit observations from other team members and end-users
• Assure system and product quality by designing testing methods; test finished product and system capabilities; confirm fabrication, assembly and installation processes
• Provide engineering information by answering questions and requests
• Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops when appropriate; review professional publications; establish personal networks; participate in professional societies
• Contribute to the team effort by accomplishing related results and lending assistance when needed
• Travel, possibly international, may be required
• Other duties as may be assigned

Skills and Related Experience:

• B.S. in Mechanical Engineering preferred
• 5-10 years experience with mechanical design
• Experience with precision automation machinery
• Auto CAD and SolidWorks
• Experience with SEMI and CE standards
• Strong communications skills, both written and verbal
• Proficiency with M.S. Office
• The ability to work independently and manage multiple projects under tight deadlines
