selecting all internal loops of the selected face

For ex; you have a rectangular cube that have rectangular cut extrude features in a linear pattern form.  If you want to add rad. only to the internal loops of the outer face, you can do it with the pop-up menu options right after selecting the first edge. It is so easy and it is a pity not to have any control to open this quick edge selection menu. If you select more than one edge, you need to deselect all to get the pop up menu back again. But I can survive with that.

However, If you want to select the same edges to create a feature other than a rad. , than you do not have that nice pop-up selection menu anymore. For ex; If I want to add planar surfaces to close these rectangular openings, I have to select all internal-edges one by one!!!  If you try to select with box selection from a normal-to view, it selects the inner loops both from internal and outer faces.

I'd like to have a short-cut to get that fantastic edge selection pop-up menu in all kind of operations.

Do you think there could be a work around?

Many Thanks,
