Hello everyone,
I'm experiencing a problem with hatch patterns in SOLIDWORKS 2023. When I change the hatch pattern settings in a drawing, the hatch pattern does not visually update, even after applying the changes.
Initially, I suspected that the problem was caused by a custom hatch pattern. I had edited the existing "sldwks.ptn" file to add a new hatch pattern type. However, I discovered that the same issue occurs with standard SOLIDWORKS hatch patterns as well.
The problem appears to be limited to a specific drawing, as I cannot reproduce it in a new drawing.
An important detail:
The drawing contains two section views. Hatch patterns work and update correctly in one of them, but they do not update in the other, even though both views are section views of the same part. The problematic section view is rotated by −90° relative to the main top view (But I don’t think that’s the problem...).
This difference between the two views makes me suspect that the issue may be related to the specific section view or its orientation, rather than the hatch pattern definition itself.
What I've tried so far:
1. Clicking **Rebuild** and applying the hatch pattern changes again.
2. Opening the referenced part, entering `Edit Sketch`, and then exiting the sketch without making any changes.
3. Deleting one of the affected views and restoring it using `Ctrl+Z`. This fixed the issue for one view, but not for the other. Repeating this process with the problematic section view had no effect.
5. Checking the section view's hatch settings, including Auto hatching and Scale hatch pattern. Changing these settings did not solve the problem.
6. Trying to force the view to update by changing the section line's position was considered as another possible workaround, but has not resolved the issue.
To summarize:
- SOLIDWORKS 2023.
- The issue occurs only in one particular drawing; new drawings work correctly.
- Both section views display hatch patterns, but changes to the hatch settings are reflected correctly in only one of them.
- The problematic section view is rotated by −90° relative to the main top view.
- The issue affects both my custom hatch pattern (added by editing `sldwks.ptn`) and standard SOLIDWORKS hatch patterns.
- Rebuilding the drawing and the other attempted workarounds have not resolved the issue.
Could you please tell me, has anyone encountered this issue in SOLIDWORKS 2023? Is there a way to force a section view's hatch pattern to regenerate or repair the affected view without recreating it and losing its dimensions and annotations?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!
