Section (Area Hatch) in SolidWorks and ASME standards

Is the differences of hatch in drawings (alluminum -vs- steel -vs- plastic) a ASME standard?

Theres a discussion amongst our different Engineering facilities that some want to stay consistant with a 45deg equally spaced hatch for all sections, no matter what material the part is made from. However I'm almost certain that SW is following an ASME standard hence the reason for the different types of hatch identification which is driven by your material selection.

I think I will find my answer in ASME document Y14.3-2003? But wanted to get some indication from this group that my thoughts are correct, before purchasing this standard.
