Seamless surfacing

Good day, everyone.

I have a textured plastic product with minor scratches caused by the mold. I'm planning to slightly increase the draft angle by adding a small amount of plastic to the affected area.

Since the design is proprietary, I cannot show the entire product, but I would appreciate any suggestions. Here's how I did it:

  1. The highlighted area shows where the scratch occurs.
  2. I created a 0.05 mm offset from the edge to define the added plastic.
  3. Using 3D Sketch, I extracted the remaining edges and connected them to the offset.
  4. I used Fill Surface, then thickened the surface.
  5. I combined the thickened surface with the original product. So far, the result looks good.
  6. After comparing both versions in shaded view, I noticed that the connection between the original and modified surfaces is still visible. Because of the quality of the image the connection is barely visible but its there in a proper angle.

My question is: Is there a way to make the transition between the two surfaces smoother and less noticeable and more seamless?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
