Same Part - slightly different modeling approach - different mass properties

Hi -

I teach a sophomore level mechanical engineering CAD class using Solidworks. I created a part for a quiz and saw that a couple of students were getting the same "wrong" answer for the part mass. When I looked more closely at the issue I realized that the variation was a result of modeling technique.

The discrepancy is very slight but it is real. The attached image shows that the feature causing the issue is a pocket cut that has a sketch that is defined by four circular curves - I have also included a link to the actual part models.

As a sanity check, I built this part yesterday evening using Fusion 360 and both techniques yielded the same value as they should.

Does anyone know if this is a "known" issue with Solidworks?

Thanks!
