I have an assembly that can be either right hand or left hand depending on which side the hardware is attached. I have setup configuarations for both versions under the same part number, but when I insert them into my main assembly, the BOM shows them as two different line items. I also tried making a derived configuation, but had the same problem.

Is there a way to tell solidworks to combine these two items, since they are the same part number and description?
