is there any way to run an external program/macro from SW?

I'd like to start a python script from a button, but found no way to do this by SW macro button. Any ideas? My recent alternative is an extra window with buttons, but I like to have them integrated into SW.

(I used to script SW by VBA, but since I had several macros corrupted, I switched to python, which works better than expected.)
