Start with some background. I design die cast tooling. It has internal cooling line that all get routed back to manifolds.
There are also hydraulic lines that get the same treatment. Nothing to crazy. Pretty basic stuff just a lot of lines.
My question to the routing community is:
How do you set up your hose routes? Do you run each hose as its own route, or do you run several lines in one routing assembly?
My cooling lines all have "in" and "out" hoses that are numbered to match the cooling line.
For example, my routing assemblies are named "Line 4 In" and "Line 4 out". So, I have two routing assemblies for each cooling line.
The number of assemblies starts to add up. It is a pain, but it works out well for me when it's time to put out a hose cut list.
I am just wondering what other designers do. I have tried running several lines in one assembly, but it starts to get busy.
