I have a part that was originally modeled by someone else, who created the model at a 45-degree angle, which corresponds to how the part is used. Since it is a relatively straight part, it seems to me that it ought to be drawn at a zero-degree orientation because that's how the machinist will make the part.
I've created the drawing views with the part shown horizontally, but when I add dimensions I run into trouble. Any dimension (also centermarks) that is not attached to a horizontal or vertical edge orients itself parallel to the model, not the drawing view. Is there a way around this?
