Resolution of Curve Through XYZ Points

I have been using a Curve Through XYZ Points to represent a complex optical element and would like to understand the accuracy of these curves.  Do the curves strictly pass through each point?  What is the accuracy of the curves?

I was inputting the points with 1e-6mm precision (nanometer).  If I edit the table it only has 1e-3mm precision (micron).  Is there anyway to improve this?  Could I scale my points by 1000X and then scale the curve down from there?  In the end I am bringing this geometry over to Abaqus to perform FEA so should I just perform the scaling there?  Thank you.
