Replace Face Deficiencies

Is there a reason why Replace Face command is so limited? Why must I choose a surface as the replacement face? And why can only one face (or in some limited cases, a group of connected faces) be replaced within one feature? In Solid Edge, you can select faces from the solid body (without creating a surface copy first) to use as the replacement face. You can also select multiple faces and one replacement face and the feature still works. In SolidWorks, this would take one Replace Face feature for each face plus the Copy Surface feature for a total of five features (in this example shown - I've had it be a lot more) for what is just one feature in Solid Edge. Seems pretty inefficient to me!
