So, after seeing several threads on reordering a BOM, I get how to reorder the items. Drag them to their desired location.

But, when I start out with a BOM that has 800+ items and I delete/ hide about 750 of them, I am left with items numbers all over the place.

Below you will see what I mean. While you will see an item 1, that is an edited/over written item 1 in an attempt while hoping that sorting the BOM will take that number one and ascend upwards going 2-21. Sorting it did give me the vast majority of the BOM to have sequential numbering, but not quite there yet.

I really hope the solution is not over writing each and every item number.
