I am fairly new to SW but wonder if there is a quick way to rename parts inside the assembly (filename) without renaming other instances of the part in the same assembly. During an inital machine design I often use parts of similar profiles. Currently I have to open the part I want to use as a "base", do a save as (also checking the copy checkbox) with a new name, then go back to my assembly, insert the part - which has now closed causing me to browse for the re-named part.

There has to be a simpler way!

If anyone has any tips or macros, that would simplify this procedure, I really appreciate it.
