How do I get the annoying dimension handle (not sure if that's the correct term) from popping up when my mouse inadvertantly swipes

across it? I've never, EVER, used this feature nor do I want it. Just a pain in the a--.

When my cursor moves across a dimension the 'handle' (small square box) appears and if I move my cursor across this box then

the nex image appears. How can I turn this 'wonderful' feature off ?
