Here is an example of my situation and what I would ideally like to do:

I have a part number 10x20x30.sldprt which distinguishes the size of a stock plate. Our purchased part number is the 10x20x30-SS.sldprt, where the -SS represents stainless steel or whatever material abbreviation is appropriate.

Currentlty I in the custom propetries field I have a property to call out the part name (\$PRP:"SW-File Name") and a property to call out the purchased part number (\$PRP:"SW-File Name"-SS). For the purchased part number, we are always manually entering the -SS (or whatever material) extension. Unfortinately this method is causing alot of errors due to inaccurate user entry.

Ideally, I would like to add a custom property to each material with the appropriate abbreviation and call this out instead manually entering it. Is this possible or are there any other ideas?
