Question About SolidWorks Student License and Company Network

Hello,

I am currently doing a mechanical engineering internship in Greece and would like to use SolidWorks on my personal laptop during my free time for practice and skill development.

While researching, I came across information suggesting that using a personal installation of SolidWorks while connected to my company's network could potentially violate licensing terms and even expose the company to significant fines. At the same time, I understand that SolidWorks Standard is available for students.

Could someone clarify how accurate this information is? Specifically:

  • Is it safe to use the student version of SolidWorks on my personal laptop?
  • Does simply being connected to my company's Wi-Fi or network create any licensing issues?
  • Are there any best practices I should follow to ensure I remain compliant with the licensing agreement?

I'd appreciate any guidance. Thank you!
