Let's say I have "the letter I" shaped object extruded one inch. I would like to cut some of the middle to make the length a little smaller, but do not want to half to cut all the way and cut some of the lower part of "the letter I". Is it possible to make that cut, but then merge the top and bottom without having a gap there? Basically I want to know if it's possible to make a cut, and then merge the two sites together.
