I am having a problem saving part files. We have three workstations running SW on a network with a server. Each workstation has its SW program installed on it. Parts and assembly files are stored on the server. Permissions are set correctly for the network.
When I open a part or make a new part I can save it the first time by SAVING or applying and new file name. If I then SAVE the file a second time it will not save. I get an error message “Failed to save document”. If I then SAVE AS the file as a different name it saves correctly. Then I can SAVE AS the file again with the original file name and it saves correctly and appears to save correctly every time after that as long as the file is not closed. If I close the file and reopen it, the problem reoccurs.
It appears that SW locks the file so it cannot save correctly. It is the only program on my machine that has this problem. The other two workstations also exhibit the same behavior.
Any suggestions as to what is going on?
