Good Morning All,
I'm having an issue getting my first solid sweep cut into my 2014 Solidworks software. I'm somewhat new to the game but so far I've crashed my way through every obstacle I’ve ran into with the help of the solidworks forums and youtube. And being the resdiant solidworks primary user I have no one to default too. My part is pretty simple, the application has a series of oil grooves cut into one of the faces. Using the youtube video link below I figured solid sweep was going to be my best option because it would simulate the endmill’s revolved geometry perfectly at the end condition. It’s not a thru slot so a simple 2D extrude wasn’t ideal. The endmills are being custom ground to create the geometry as it’s not a standard profile.
My only problem is coming from the solid swept cut feature manager. It will not let me select my solid “tool” for the profile. It’s a revolved feature and hasn’t been merged with the base solid body. I’m dead in the water until I can get past this road block.
I’ve attached the file for review. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!
Robert
