Hello all,
This recently popped up in another forum and I'm trying to help resolve the issue. Basically, the user would like to create a solid sweep using a linear sketch pattern as its profile. Also, the profile alignment must remain tangent to the top plain as its being swept. This seemed possible using the top plane as the direction vector under the path alignment option. Here's the problem...when trying to create the solid sweep the profile does not stay aligned. If I change the original sketch ( four circles/linear pattern) to a slot, it works fine. It also works using the surface sweep feature. The problem seems to be isolated to the solid sweep feature. Attached is a file with three configurations (slot solid sweep, solid sweep, surface sweep). If you compare them you will notice that all the options are set identically in the sweep features. You will also notice the only failed attempt was the solid sweep. Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong? Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thank you
FYI...the part was created with SW2011 SP3
