After converting to a Step file I get a problem with my part by where there are gaps and holes in it.

I would have thought this would be because the Solidworks part had a gap in and so consisted of more than one solid body or surface body, however I don't have those files in my design tree suggesting there are no gaps? Perhaps I am wrong...

Can anybody help me with why this problem is occurring?
