Prevent Solidworks 2016 from automatically re-expanding and re-collapsing parts in an assembly?

Hello everyone.

Every time I rebuild, hide/show parts, make parts transparent in an assembly, or edit a part and click OK at the end of a feature, my FeatureTree will automatically expand or collapse random parts within my assembly. The most annoying  bit is when it collapses the part I'm trying to work on, but expands everything else.

Please, someone tell me this is just a setting that I can turn off. I've only experienced this in 2015 and 2016, and it never happened to me in 12 or 13.

I am currently on SW2016 SP3

Thank you for any help.

EDIT:

I just noticed, this ONLY happens if I double-click the part at some point to expand or collapse it. If I use the arrows on the far left side, the issue doesn't happen. I'm completely perplexed as to why this is the case.
