I have tried to find a functionality in SW that I would like to submit an enhancement request, but would like to find out first if anyone else knows how to do this easily.
We manufacture chairs that move into different positions. (Imagine a dentist chair or a Lazy-Boy recliner) It would be beneficial to have a tool that works like the Explode tool to position/rotate parts into different positions to represent different positions of the chair. It we work with mates it gets really cumbersome because of the huge amount of mates in the part and it makes it hard to manage with configurations and which mates should be suppressed and which ones should be active. Expecially when we have to update assemblies with new parts and mates are lost, and then you have to redo the work. It is possible in programs like 3dvia to select all the parts you want to rotate and rotate about an axis. We would like to be able to do this in solidworks so we can create drawings with the chair in different positions. Any suggestions? Would anyone else see this as a useful tool? I think it would be an easy extension to the explode tool.
