Hello,
I hope I am at the right place... just have a big question about SolidWorks.
Here we go... for the past ten or twelve years, I have been working with SolidWorks, so I have a lot of parts, assemblies and drawings saved, which I back-up often and on a external USB disk.
Lately I have been having a lot of problems with my Dell precision M4400 Intel Core2 Duo T9400 @2.53GHz 4Gig of Ram, Video Nvidia Quadro FX 770M 512 Mb, running windows 7 Pro upgraded from XP pro and so I dicided to do a deep cleaning on my machine and switch to Windows 7 64 bits since my laptop support 64 Bits and also switch to Solidworks 64, since I am stuck at home and working from home, thanks to my co-worker and my Boss, the only version I had at my disposal once I finished reloading Win 7 is the SW 2010 64, well all is well but I yet have to register and it didn't accept my registration serial number... which I hope you can trace and fix for me, more than that I can not open any of my files that have been done on a 32 bits system previously even those made lately with SW 2011 SP4 wich was the last Ver. I had on my machine before this changes.
Is there a conversion to do in order to use my files will it impact my work with my co-worker or do I have to go back to 32 bits system... and forget about all this.
Is there any advantage beside those I read on the different blog's to be using one versus the other (32 v 64 bits) like speed, memory managment etc...
Thank you very much for your help and I am at your disposal for any additional information's
Respectfully
Henri
