Plastic Injection Molding

Good day everyone,

This is the only forum I participate in, so if my question seems unsuitable here, please let me know, and I’ll gladly take it down. I work in a mold fabrication company, where we use a product called "Printing Ink" (also the brand name) to check metal-to-metal contact. The process involves applying red ink to one surface and observing its transfer to the other upon contact.

I have two questions:

  1. Does anyone know of a substance or method that performs this task more effectively than the one we currently use?
  2. Is there a device capable of detecting metal-to-metal contact, even in narrow openings, with greater accuracy?

I’ve already searched online but would appreciate insights from those with experience in these areas to help narrow down my options. Thank you in advance for your help!
