Planning to upgrade in 2010

I've been away from the forum (for the most part) for the last year or so, I'm surprised that I'm still a "top contributor" . Our system is stable and functioning well, and frankly I was pulled in other directions during this down economy, probably like most of us....but now we are a full 3 versions behind on our systems. We are currently running 2007 versions of Solidworks and PDMWorks Enterprise.

I want to make sure we are getting value from our systems, and I don't like to be so far behind in upgrades. So I'm loaded with new questions now...

1- Is there a direct upgrade from 2007 to 2010 for each system (SW and ENT) or is it a stepped upgrade?

2- We have pretty intensive workflows set up for ECNs, is there a utility to export workflows without losing links to other workflows? Also I hope there are good improvements to the notification system.

3- Has anyone else gone through this recently? Do you have any upgrade "plans" that you could share, like a checklist of tasks?

I'm trying to get approval to hit Solidworks World to get a lot of these questions I have answered, but I'm not sure I'll be able to make it or not.

Thanks in advance!

Corey
