Hi everyone,
I'm experiencing several persistent issues with my SOLIDWORKS installation that significantly affect usability:
- I receive repeated “low memory” warnings even when no other applications are open and I’m working with very simple parts.
- The default templates for parts, assemblies, and drawings are missing or not loading properly.
In Smart Dimension, symbols like diameter and radius don't display correctly — I get text placeholders like “mod diam” instead.
I have already uninstalled and reinstalled SOLIDWORKS, manually removing all associated files, but the issues persist.
As part of my troubleshooting, I’ve tested both safe mode options:
- "Launch SOLIDWORKS while bypassing the Tools settings" — This works perfectly. All templates load properly, I’m prompted to select dimension settings when starting a part, and Smart Dimension shows the correct symbols.
"Launch SOLIDWORKS in Software OpenGL mode" — This does not resolve the issue. All problems still occur.
Based on this, it seems the problem is tied to my Tools/Options settings.
Can someone explain:
- What specifically is being bypassed in this mode?
How can I reset or correct the settings so SOLIDWORKS runs properly without having to use Safe Mode every time?
I’ll attach screenshots to illustrate the issues clearly.
Thank you in advance for any guidance!
Best,
Oscar Yair
