I know this subject has been touched upon before, but it doesn't appear that there has been any real resolution to it...
We are running into performance issues with SolidWorks & PDM Workgroup at Check-in & Check-out. What it boils down to is that if we enable the option to "Include drawings" for Check in or Check out under "Command Defaults", PDM Workgroup references a HUGE number of files. Here are the options I'm referring to:
In one example, when checking out a small assembly (several parts, two sub-assemblies, 38 parts total), Workgroup PDM brought up a list of over 3000 parts!!!
Now, it appears that what Workgoup is trying to do is locate & include all parts, assemblies, and drawings that reference any of the components of the assembly in question. I suppose this might be helpful if you are trying to determine how changes made to a particular component will affect anything that references it, but that's not what I'm looking to do here. And besides, there are other ways of accomplishing that.
I just want to include the drawings related to the assembly, and to its constituent components.
Any thoughts on how to achieve this without getting everything, including the kitchen sink??
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
