Hi all,

     I am in the midst of setting up PDM pro for my company. We are going to have a folder structure containing customer supplied data as well as PDFs. To avoid purchasing viewer licenses, we were planning to make this a location outside PDM that is read only. However, we would at some point like to migrate to using viewer licenses. My questions are these:

1. Can data cards be attached to files that are outside the PDM?
   1. If so, can windows search these as standard metadata?

Right now I am trying to accommodate company budget, but I don't want to cut corners in the process. If we have to get viewer licenses then we have no choice.
