I'm getting the following error when I try to create a new file from a template:

"Could not create COM interface of file 'filename.prtdot'.  Cause: the supplied object ID is not valid."

Any ideas as to why this may be?  I am trying this from my username, which has full access and privileges to the PDM (read and write).

The template file is a PRTDOT file (a part template file).  During the creation of the file when using the template, I have it changed to a SLDPRT file, so I don't know if that is causing the problem.  This occurs whether Solidworks is on the computer or not, so I don't think it really is a solidworks CAD problem.  Do  I need to the permission to "share the file to another folder"?
