I have a simple Boss-Extrude with a large radius (100mm) curve. Whenever I extrude the part to its correct length (>1000mm), the part renders this curve as a flat surface. You can see in this screenshot how the randered geometry doesn't remotely match the sketch.
Oddly enough, if I reduce the extruded length to 10mm, the rendered geometry matches the sketch.
I imagine this is some performance optimization on SolidWork's part. If a part is of a certain side, it tessellates the curves. I'm familiar with it on circles. But in this case, it's rather annoying and changes the appearance of the part. Thankfully, it seems to just be cosmetic. The radius evaluates to be 100mm, even if it renders as a flat surface.
I've since adjusted the Image Quality settings within this document. Rebuilt, restarted, resaved, everything. that doesn't seem to have changed anything.
Anyone have any suggestions to prevent SolidWorks for "optimizing" this rendering?
