I have a block (something like a CMU-concrete masonry unit) that I want to have two painted faces. I want the two faces to look painted white whenever I insert them into an assembly. The block itself I have showing as glass so that you can see the structural members that are in them, but I want to front and back faces not to be see through, but look painted. Changing the appearances of those faces in the part file doesn't come through in the assemblies. I've tried making a filled surface, but it's appearances don't come through either. I've also tried an extruded surface but it doesn't come through either. It doesn't make sense to me. Help
Nevermind - The appearances weren't showing up in the assembly because I made the changes to the part after the assembly was created. I wouldn't think that would matter since other changes come through, but i was wrong.
Surface fill seems to work the best, but are there better ways to show a painted surface?
