This position is responsible for new packaging development from inception to design. We are looking for an Industrial Designer that will work directly with the internal design team to develop new innovative concepts through sketching, 3D modeling, rendering, and prototyping. The designer in this position will be working on internal innovation as well as customer projects with guidance of the design team.
ORGANIZATIONAL STATUS:
 Reports directly to Director of Design and Development
WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:
 Works closely with marketing, sales, account management, operations, and design teams in Dallas to establish product requirements, and creates manufacturable designs
 Works closely with Project Managers to achieve specific design goals for customer
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
 Comfortable quickly communicating through hand sketching and Illustrator/Photoshop renderings.
 Has an eye for what is beautiful and their finger on the pulse of what is trending today
 Able to perform design research and comfortable presenting and explaining your findings to management
 Has a mechanical mind that is at home in creating solutions in Solidworks and knows Keyshot or similar software
 Directs suppliers in the building of cosmetic quality prototypes
 Provides solutions necessary to achieve innovative designs
 Continually develops and improves standards, internal systems, and processes
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
 Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, or Design Engineering required
 4+ years’ experience in product design  Expert level in Solidworks  Expert level in Illustrator and Photoshop
 Experienced designing manufacturable designs for plastics molding
 Knowledgeable in common decoration capabilities for ridged plastic containers  Cosmetics packaging packaging preferred
