could someone help me please?

i have copied an assembly with virtual components in it. i renamed it and then deleted varios vc's fron it, and added a few. when i now try to edit one of the original virtual components i get the message below. all i want to do is change the plane position. is there a way to stop the copied assemby from linking back to the original? i dont want to remodel the original vc's if i can help it.
