Orientation (rotation) of plane normal to curve

Hello all,

I've drawn a 3d spline and now I want to orient a plane normal to that 3d spline.  I can certainly do this with no problem, however, sometimes when a plane is created this way, the plane is rotated to a not-so-intutive angle relative to the spline.  Is there a way to control this?

In the attachments, look normal to the plane named - BEND - and I think you'll see what I mean.  You kind of end up looking at it sideways in the "Wrong" file but it's just fine in the "Correct" file.  I really want to be looking approximately down along the spline looking from the front view as shown in the "Correct" file.  I apologize for the crappy explanation on that, but I think you'll see what I mean ...

Both BEND planes were created by pre-selecting the spline and the point on the spline and then clicking the reference geometry icon.  I just want a failsafe way to control the orientation of the plane if possible.

Thanks,

Gamal
