I use keyboard shortcuts a lot. With Windows 7, I was unable to create a desktop keyboard shortcut to open the vault folder. The desktop shortcut does not allow it, being a kind of EPDM data card.

However, it can be done.

1. Create a desktop shortcut as normal.

2. Drag the shortcut to the Start Button until you see the "Pin to Start Button" tooltip, and drop the shortcut.

3. Right-mouse-click on the shortcut you just created and select "Properties."

4. Enter your desired keystroke combination in "Shortcut Key" box.

Voila! Life is worth living again.
