Open 3D drawing from autocad (dwg) in solidworks

So friends, I found a 3D drawing in the DWG version..., it's about 6 mb..., it's an interlaced totem, the idea would be to cover this totem in sheet metal in solidworks.., but I try to open it as a 3D sketch, without success, basically it doesn't give any error and it doesn't matter.., I tried to open it directly through solid..., but it takes forever.., more than 30 minutes. and when it opens, it's extremely heavy...., it looks like this:

It's like this in AutoCAD... I would like to know if I can export it from AutoCAD in a way that makes it lighter so I can open it in SolidWorks and work on it...

And I can't open it through SolidWorks. I've tried opening it, and after about 30 minutes I can open it, but I can't handle it because it's so heavy. I tried opening it and saving it without doing anything, saving it as a SolidWorks part file. It generated a file of over 600 MB. I tried opening this file, but it was still extremely heavy...

So I wanted to know if there's any way I can export it from AutoCAD in a lighter way or import it from SolidWorks so I can handle it....

Just to give you an idea, what I want to do is for it to have this result with sheet metal coating, but I do it in SolidWorks and I plan the parts later:

The idea of me doing this training is that I saw a work of a sculpture of a silver whale covered in sheet metal:

So I wanted to train on something simpler, but I couldn't even import the metal into SolidWorks to try to do something.....

If anyone can help me..., I think this problem I appreciate..., I don't have any other 3D structure model to study..., but I think this problem would occur in other 3D metal structure files.
