Edited to give kudos to @KevinChandler for pointing out this is a rant but there is a point. I am retiring soon but there is no one to take my place. I have tried to train others but there is no gumption to pick up the torch and run with it.
I see so many posts wanting to write scripts or macros to automate things that can be done with a couple of clicks but very few posts from people wanting to learn the meat of the software. I deal with it every day since we have users that think it is easier to ask than to figure it out on their own. Seriously people...learn the software. It is the tool you use to do the job you are paid for. Quit writing macros until you are well versed in all the menus and intricacies of the program you are paid to use every day.
Edited to add, this forum still stinks. I can't believe the powers-that-be still thinks this is a good idea. Back to the old school stuff. When are they going to listen to their users and quit following the few that think this style is trending.
