I've installed a new hard drive and Windows 7, 64-bit with v2009 SP 5.1 on my system.  I've seen several odd things, some of which are instability issues when compared to my previous system (XP, 32-bit, v2007, v2008, and v2009 SP 4.x).

For instance, each time I start the system and log into Windows, I'm asked if SWIM can make changes to my hard drive.  Every time I open SolidWorks, I must accept the terms of the EULA for MS Office 2000 (as if a registry key isn't being stored for this answer), and Microsoft Visual Basic opens before I see the window for SolidWorks pop up.

To get the installation manager to install the SP from 0.0 to 5.1, I used the settings recommended by Jason Raak here:

Since Office is involved with this, it looks like I might need to update it to something newer than v2000.  Fine, I've got another license around here somewhere for that.  But I had none of these problems on my XP, 32-bit system with v2009, so I don't see what the difference is with this now.

Also, for all those making the jump from XP to Windows 7, you can apparently run ONLY SW v2010 from this point forward--no v2009 support:

Therefore, I'm asking here about any other tips/tricks to get SolidWorks v2009 to function better.  I've read all I could find on this topic so far, and have better results now, but things are still less than optimal.  Any advice from this point?
