Non Linear FEA of Tensile Test Specimen

Hello everyone. 
I am working on a project where I am trying to do a non linear fea on a tensile test specimen for Ti6. It’s a standard flat specimen described as per ASTM E8. I have the data from physical testing and I am recreating the same using fea. The purpose is to study plasticity till UTS. 

I wanted to know the best practices, solver and mesh settings and boundary conditions just to make sure I am setting everything right. In my test runs I have been having issues with convergence failing at 98% or so even though I am using large displacement and strain options, it still fails with the same errors. I unfortunately can’t post anything here.

If anyone could help, I would be happy. Please note, I am using the 1/8th symmetry for my simulation. Thanks in advance!
