Hello all, my company is new to Solidworks and looking to buy 2 new workstations to run SW. We typically buy HP workstations but I'm also open to Dell.
We are a packaging company and we don't create large models however we import large files from customers. We use the customer files to create packaging around the part. These files can be anywhere from 10mb to 300mb in size and are usually .stp or catia files that we import. Current system can take an hour or more to import a 200mb file and I'm hoping a new workstation improve on this time.
When the new workstations are installed we'll be running SW2109 or 2020.
Would the below be a good workstation?
HP Z2 tower
Intel® Xeon® E-2144G vPro™ (3.6 GHz base frequency, up to 4.5 GHz with Intel® Turbo Boost Technology, 8 MB cache, 4 cores)
Discrete: NVIDIA® Quadro® P2000 (5 GB GDDR5 dedicated)
16 GB DDR4-2666 non-ECC SDRAM (2 X 8 GB) - plan to upgrade this to 32GB
512 GB HP Z Turbo Drive PCIe® SSD
Thanks much!
