About a month ago I received a new computer.

SolidWorks 2012

HP z420

Xeon E5-1620 3.6GHz

Win 7 Pro

AMD firepro 5900

8 GB

Space pilot

Dual monitors 22" and 20"

I usually have email; internet and solidworks open on 1 monitor and solidworks only on other monitor.

Just this week, whenever I try to use section view to check clearances between components

in an assembly, SW locks up and I receive this message: "Display driver stopped working and has recovered."

I must close and reopen SW to continue.

I really believe this is getting worse. Sometimes (just now) I only have SW open on 1 monitor and using a small assembly.

Is this too much work for the Video card?

If so, why did it just start this week?

Why not from the first day?
