Hi everyone.
Solidworks noob here and I need some help extruding the shape of the orange part in the assembly into the top and bottom block assemblies essentially making a male and female form block. I've been looking at youtube videos trying to figure it out but can't come up with anything. If you can point me in the right direction I would appreciate it greatly.
First picture is just an iso view of the assembly, second picture shows the part at about the point I want the shape of it to start in the block as well as in the second picture but for the top block, and the last picture is a top view of the part and blocks.
I read on another thread about extruding a block around the part, deselecting merge, then using the combine/subtract command and selecting the block as the main body. but it kept giving me a zero thickness geometry error.
Another thing I've tried is using the cavity command which gives me a cavity in the block but now I would like to get rid of all the material above the cavity as shown in the last picture.
Thank you for your time!
