We are trying to mimick the way a system would be assembled. Please see the attached picture, we weld the 3 legs highlighted in red before welding the whole frame shown in the picture. The issue I am having is that when I insert the 3 individual multibody parts (sub-weldments) into the top level multibody part (weldment), the cutlist doesn't reflect the way the 3 multibody parts (subweldments) are structured. It wants to group them by individual part, not the way I made the 3 multibody part files. I can disolve the folders, and restructure them to match the 3 multibody parts, but then the quantity is dictated by an unknown source and not what it should be based upon my file structuring. I cannot edit the quantity. It would be a disaster making this as an assembly, because I would have to make all of the structural members as individual parts, and it would take 5x as long. I know the software wasn't designed to be this complicated.
Has anybody else encoutered this, which path did you take to get around this and did it work?
Thanks,
Cliff
