Hi everyone,
Please check the image, it shows a revolved cut on the right side with feature scope set to "all bodies" so that it cuts both bodies. On the left side is the mirrored cut. Because it should cut both bodies, the mirrored feature is set to "geometry pattern", with feature scope all bodies.
The resulting mirrored feature fails, it only cuts the bottom part.
To find out what the problem is, I try some debugging.
If I change the original cut to only cut the top part, then on the mirrored feature deselect "geometry pattern", the mirrored cut will cut only the top part as it should. But if I now switch on the geomtry pattern and select the top part in the feature scope, a message appears "geometry pattern results in disjoint bodies".
In conclusion, solidworks behaves in an inexplicable manner in this case.
How can I mirror the cut to cut both bodies? Usually mirrored cuts are no problem. Are these parts too complex for solidworks to handle (the main body was created with surfaces)?
