Multi Body design table driven part with >50 design table configurations

Hi

I am having a few problems with SolidWorks using ALL of my memory resource (8GB). I have a multi body part which is design table driven. There are 24  top level configurations(sizes) each with 6 sub configuarations (components). file size in 2012 was about 70Mb but since upgrading to 2013 it has jumped to 200Mb, MINIMUM...

Opening the part takes my memory load to about 3.5Gb, but switching between configurations very quickly increases load to over 7Gb, loading simulation causes my system to stop and solidworks to end... this is, as you can imagine very frustrating...

Having all components in a single file makes model updates much simpler, because  I know that all changes filter through to all components and my drawing tables will get updated with the correct values (using a single excel tab that references the correct cells in the design table for each body) and I am easily able to produce DXF and Parasolid files for every body in the part.

I am stairing down the barrell of a long winded re-model to reduce the number of feature tree items (currently about 130 features), but before I start this I was wondering if anyone had any hints or tips that may save me a few hours.

The part is circular and I am already modeling the part in  120 degree segments and using a circular pattern with a number of combines at the end in an attempt to reduce the features.

Thanks in advance

Tim
