Hi
I'm creating parts that have some aspects derived from other parts, i.e. I'll create a new part in an assembly and copy the shape from another part (organic shapes) using the Convert Entities function.
The problem I'm running into is that sometimes I'll want to try another version, but keep the original parts and assembly in case the new shape isn't as good. To date what I've been trying is to copy the parts, rename them, add them to a new assembly and change them there.
However I can't use the Convert entities function since SW won't let me create new associations within the new assembly.
Maybe I'm doing it backwards? Should I be saving copies of all the parts, create a new assembly and then go back and rework the original assembly? Or is there a better way of doing this?
Thank you.
